Things to Remember During Hip Replacement Recovery Time
After a hip replacement surgery you will need to have extra precaution for moving your hips or move yourself so that you don’t dislocate your hip. Especially for the first 3 to 4 months of the surgery, as it is the most crucial time period for your recovery.
For a safe and healthy Hip replacement recovery, keep check on some points given below –
Don’t cross your legs and ankles when you are sitting, standing and lying down.
Avoid Hip Flexion (Bending too far forward from your waist/ pull your leg up past your waist.)
Don’t bend, cross or raise your legs during dressing.
Try not to sit in the same position for more than 30 to 4o mnts.
Don’t put your feet all together, always remember to Keep them about 6 inches apart.
Take small steps while you are turning.
Avoid Wearing sleepers as it can make your slip.
Ignore SEX during the first 6 to 7 weeks of your recovery.
